Form of issue

Pharmacodynamics
Active component of the drug - xylometazoline hydrochloride - has the ability, with local application, to narrow the vessels of the nasal mucosa, thereby reducing hyperemia, swelling and mucus secretion. In therapeutic doses - improves nasal breathing and does not irritate the nasal mucosa. The therapeutic effect comes in 10-15 minutes and lasts for 5-12 hours.

Indications for use
Symptomatic treatment of rhinitis of various etiologies, otitis media of the middle ear, for drainage of secretions with sinusitis, eustachiitis, rinoscopy.
Contraindications
Elevated blood pressure, severe atherosclerosis, tachycardia, atrophic rhinitis, glaucoma, hypersensitivity to the drug, hyperthyroidism, age to 6 years (spray).
Prescribe with caution in prostate adenoma, age under 2 years (nasal drip), diabetes mellitus.

Side effects

The 0.1% nasal spray is intended for adults and children after 6 years: one injection into the nasal passage, three procedures per day.
Overdose
There is an increase in side effects.
Interaction
The drug should not be administered simultaneously with antidepressants (tricyclics) and monoamine oxidase inhibitors.
