Composition

One tablet contains 30 mg of ambroxol hydrochloride + excipients (corn starch, croscarmellose sodium, lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone, magnesium stearate).
Syrup Flavamed contains active ingredient 15 ml per 5 ml, excipients (purified water, glycerol 85%, hydroxyethylcellulose, raspberry flavor, benzoic acid, sorbitol 70%).

Form of issue

The active substance is a Bromhexine derivative. Has a strong mucolytic effect, increasing the proportion of the serous component of bronchial secretions. The withdrawal of unchanged ambroxol and its metabolites occurs through the kidneys, this period is about 8-12 hours.

Contraindications

Tablets drink after eating, squeezed with water, do not chew. Without consulting a specialist, the course of treatment should not exceed five days.
Adults and children who reached the age of 12 years are prescribed 90 mg per day, for three doses. That is, 1 tablet 3 times a day. Then the dosage is reduced to 1 tablet 2 times a day.

The maximum daily dose of cough syrup for adults is 120 mg (4 scoops, 2 times). It is recommended to take 90 mg of syrup in the first couple of days of illness and 60 mg in the following.
The daily dosage of syrup for children 6-12 years is 30-40 mg; 2-5 years - 22.5 mg; up to 2 years - 15 mg.

Flavamed Forte, instruction for children

Children from 12 years should take one spoonful three times a day.
At the age of 6-12 years - half a spoon 2-3 times a day.
Flavamed for children from 2 to 5 years appoint a quarter spoon 3 times a day.
Up to two years - a quarter of a spoon 2 times a day.

Overdose

Diarrhea, restlessness, vomiting, low blood pressure and strong salivation. It should be no later than 2 hours to wash the stomach, take fatty food, to eliminate the unpleasant symptoms.

Interaction

Almost does not happen. Simultaneous administration of Flavamed and antibiotics increases the latter in sputum and bronchopulmonary secretions.
